A lifelong Detroiter, and current Site Director of Figure Skating in Detroit, with a Master’s in Education from Wayne State University, Lori L. Ward has strong youth development experience as a former teacher and school principal, a career that spans over 20 years in the public and charter school systems. She established metro-Detroit partnerships for the well-known Pretty Brown Girls after school program, has served as principal of WAY Academy, University Yes Academy and Southeastern high schools, as well as Building Leader at University Prep High School.

She is a proud wife and mother. Her passion and dedication to empower, educate, motivate and build leadership capacity in girls of color is a life time journey she continues to be committed to.  In her current position the journey has taken her to helping girls build a foundation on ICE to become champions in life!
