Summer Dreams provides an opportunity to enhance girl leadHERS to grow physically, emotionally, mentally, and socially in a healthy, stimulating, environment. A strong programming focus on S.T.E.A.M, entrepreneurship. self-care, ice skating, and fitness.
Includes:
- Healthy Snacks
- Program T-shirt
- Skates
- Activities included: Collaborative Science/Technology/Engineering/Math (STEM)-based projects that promote leadership, sisterhood, and community service, career/entrepreneurship sessions with community guest speakers, dance, health & nutrition, “Let’s Go Get Fit” and daily on-ice instruction.
Cost: $250.00 (Additional siblings 1/2 off).

THE HISTORY OF SUMMER DREAMS
Figure Skating in Detroit introduced it’s first summer day camp, the 2017 Summer Camp “Dreaming with Eyes Wide Open”. The camp took place July 31 through August 4 from 9am – 3:30pm at The Detroit Skating Club in Bloomfield Hills, Mich where girls from ages 6-15 participated in various activities to help them grow into tomorrow’s leaders.
Throughout the duration of the camp the girls worked hard to prepare for the last day of camp to display their career/entrepreneurship and self esteem projects. From designing websites to t-shirts to dream boards, friends and families were impressed as they witnessed such growth.
But it didn’t end there as the camp ended with an on ice exhibition. the girls gracefully took the ice for their performance based on the book “Round” written by self esteem workshop leader, Shervonne Taylor. All stood in applause during for the girls as they bowed ending their outstanding performance.
The 2017 “Dreaming With Eyes Wide Open” summer day camp proved that Figure Skating In Detroit is more than just ice skating. It helps girls build a foundation on ice as they transform their lives and grow in confidence, leadership and academic achievement.
